Storytelling for All ages - 26th Bay Area Storytelling Festival

Nationally famous tellers combine spoken story, music and movement in captivating performances that delight audiences of all ages. Beth Horner, Patrick Ball and Gene Tagaban are headlining the 26th Festival, and Jill Johnson and Michael Katz are this year’s Showcase Tellers.

This family friendly event is open to adults and children ages 9 and up, with a special Sunday kid's concert for ages 5 and up.

Special workshop May 18th:

  • Friday May 18th - Story Creation with Children (Beth Horner) is a special Friday the 18th workshop that is selling out fast, so order your tickets online now.

Festival Days May 19th -May 20th:  both days begin and end with concerts of all performers

  • Saturday May 19th   - Creating stories with string will be the topic of the Saturday workshop (A Loop of String, Ruth Stotter). 
  • Sunday May 20th  - Building Stories from Scratch (Tim Ereneta) will be the topic of Sunday’s workshop.
  • Story Swaps will occur on both Saturday and Sunday, opportunities to strut your stuff, and hear condensed storytelling.
  • Story Slamming is happening on Saturday.  “Life's a Trip” is this year’s title & topic.  Tell a personal short story that is somehow related to travel, & you might win the slam!
  • Our special Kid’s Concert will be held on Sunday, and is for families with children four years and older.


Tickets are available for individual events starting at $7.  Daily  and all festival passes for the whole weekend can also be purchased online or at the gate.
