Naturalization Ceremony March 3 2015

US Citizenship and Immigration Services will join the National Park Service to present a special naturalization ceremony for forty-two immigrants who will take their oath of citizenship.This event is being presented in honor of Women’s History Month, recognizing the proud history of women’s contributions to our nation. Making the keynote speech is Betty Reid-Soskin, who worked as a clerk for the segregated Boilermakers A-36 union hall during the war and  well-known as a community activist.

Those being sworn in at this ceremony come from 28 countries. Singing that day is the musical group TOSCA, an a capella group, part of the Oakland Symphony Chorus.
