presents “Swill + Swell,” a beer pairing event at the Craneway Pavilion. 

When we’re not in our brewing overalls, with their Pollock splatter of yeast and hop matter, we like to think we clean up well. So please join us for our keystone event of SF Beer Week: a night of swilling inventive beers cleverly paired with some of the best food in the country, all while enjoying live jazz and sunset over the swells of the Bay. 

We are fortunate to be joined by our friend Sharon Li, executive chef at Press – a Michelin reviewed farm-to-table steakhouse in the heart of the Napa Valley – who will take us on a culinary tour of taste memories from her childhood. Chef Sharon is coming off an insane year in which her restaurant was selected as one of OpenTable’s top 100 restaurants in America, received glowing reviews from Michelin. Specializing in nose-to-tail cooking and traditional fermentation and pickling techniques, Chef Sharon Li pairs elevated comfort food with the fresh and inventive beers brewed by the brother-sister team at Armistice Brewing Company for a taste experience that will amuse your bouche and foxtrot maniacally across your palate.

But this sensory experience is for more than your mouth; we’ll have live jazz to charm your earholes and the most stunning panoramic views in the Bay that might just make your eyeballs explode in your skull. The Craneway Pavilion is simply the most beautiful waterfront venue in the region, and sunset is when it really shines. Enjoy the views of ocean, cities, and bridges as the final light seeps out the sky and the city turns to diamonds at night from this historic venue. Built in 1931 as the Ford Assembly plant, the Craneway later served as a process plant during WWII, when Richmond was home to Rosie the Riveter and the most prolific Kaiser Shipyard in America. The Craneway is a fine showcase of what makes us proud to call Richmond home.

But it gets better: this all-you-can-eat and all-you-can-drink event includes your very own fancy glass and a cash bar (if you’re the type that likes their sundowner in cocktail form). Brewers Alex and Gregory will dive into their process and the magic behind Chef Sharon’s pairings. Monday never tasted so good, and with free-flowing beers, you might just want to take off the rest of the week.
